AOL Searches exposed… heeelariously

Blog Archives Photos 11-15-03.Kill-Aol-1Maybe you’ve heard this, maybe you haven’t… but AOL did something really really bad recently. They accidentally exposed their database of recent user searches. While usernames have been replaced with unique numbers, this is still a horrible thing. “Who cares?” you say… Well fine then… Imagine this scenario: You first search for your name on the net, then you search for your social security number… *bam* Instant identity theft. Or you search for your company’s name, then you search for inappropriate pictures of minors… *bam* Jailtime.

Now, as with anything that is horrendously wrong, there’s always a funny side of it. Along comes the website Something Awful and their findings on this exposed database. This stuff is friggin funny.

Thanks Eric
