I’m taking requests….

So, I’ve got $25 worth of iTunes birthday cash burning a hole in my pocket thanks to my lovely wife.  The problem is there’s no new music out there that interests me all that much at the moment.  This is where you come in.  I need some help.  I’m looking for “rock”-solid recommendations from one and all.  Here are the grounds rules…

1) It has to be music.  I’m not interested in iTunes movies, videos, or television programs on a tiny screen.

2) No D.  I saw the movie and I’ll pick up the bargain-basement sound track in the spring or summer for $4.99.

3) If it sucks, I’ll kick you in the nuts. (OK. I probably won’t follow through on this one, but it sounds good.)

Any advice out there?  Please?  Pretty Please?  Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Poison’s Fallen Angel has given me a lot of mileage lately. Its an oldie, but somehow I missed it (must have been too busy listening to goth-shit).

The Killers last album, Hot Fuss, was really good. The new one? Not so much.

Beck always is a good call. Guero was great, and I’ve heard tracks off the new one that sound pretty solid.

“Another Pilot” - Hey Rosetta!

Seriously, anytihng by Hey Rosetta! is great, but “Pilot” is the kick ass song of their new album. If you don’t get this, I’ll kick YOU in the nuts!

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor

These are the two I listened to more than anything else this year. They’re both double-albums, and neither one has a single filler song. They’re both great straight through.

Enjoy,

Nick

Wolfmother - a band with a Led Zepelin/Black Sabbath type sound. Try the song “woman” its gotten some radio play and you’ve probably heard it on a commercial or two and not known it.
