Spring and Summer suck
Sure, the weather is great. Fighting with the lawn, grilling out, boating, all good things. But its merely a distraction from what’s important in life. Sports.
The NBA is awful. Even with the Cavs in the finals, I still turn off the TV so I can sleep rather than watch the final quarter. (Btw, LeBron is not Jordan).
Then there’s baseball. I have an agreement with the Reds. They will play .500 baseball for the first couple months so we fans can say well if the stars align for the next 80 games, we’ll make the playoffs. Of course, I don’t need them to make the playoffs b/c that’s during football season and is inconsequential. But at least it distracts me during May - July.
But no, instead the Reds are awful. Awful, awful. Like 1980’s Indians awful. (Or 70’s, 60’s, etc.) (or like the Browns in … well pick any year) (or the Cavs in every year but this one)

Griffey’s cool, but will anyone watch 3 hours of pencil-to-eye-jabbing boredom to see if Griffey goes long? I won’t, but some might not call me a true fan.

Sounds like you’re a bandwagon fan. Yep, exactly what you called all the Cleveland fans when the Indians were good in the late 90’s early 2000’s… hypocrite, but seriously, baseball sucks. I always make a deal with the Indians… don’t suck during the first 80 games and maybe I’ll watch some after the All-Star break. Usually works out that I get off without having to watch much baseball.
