State of the union - NFL style

Go Bengals! Boy, we are terrible.  The defense is really bad, and the offense just hasn’t been as explosive as years past.  The last game against the Jets, we were losing in the second half by two touchdowns, but we got it done.  Here’s the thing…. we play a bunch of crappy teams yet this year:  […]

Woohoo, Yawn, Uh oh, Phew…

The Buckeyes took care of business against Mich State this weekend.  If you didn’t see the game, Michigan State offense was embarrassed.  And with the exception of 2 plays, Ohio State completely dominated this game.  But, I know what you’re saying…

Whiney John voice:  “The score makes Ohio State look like they struggled which will hurt […]

OSU favored by 18.5

Remember 2001? Close game after close game, an improbable rise from 13th (?) to #2 and ultimately the champs.  This year is similar.  A team without an awe-inspiring offense, but a lights-out defense that is getting no respect nationally (I saw a poll with Ohio State #3 behind Ok & LSU).
The only difference is that this […]

Year that proves Preseason Polls are crap

Well, what do you say? As expected the Buckeyes roll on another inferior team. If they lost, they’d have fallen out of the race, if it were close it would “prove” Ohio State is over-rated, but instead it was a blowout which means Kent State is awful and OSU’s schedule is weak. Obviously, it was […]

Big Ten Network can kiss the….well you know

I almost forgot the Big Ten has hijacked the Kent State game removing it from hundreds of thousands of TVs.  I don’t pick games that are unceremoniously removed from my view.  So Curt will stay (3-2).  Back to the game….
Since I am a chipmunk - swollen and unable to drink beer - from my Oral Surgery, I can’t go to […]

Golden Flash of Upset?

This week the Buckeyes play a loser MAC team called Kent State.  I haven’t decided my pick yet, but let’s break it down….
Why they’d lose:

Both teams Kent State played this year with State (Delaware State, Iowa State) they’ve won…. Ohio State.  uh oh.
When they played Ohio, they won…. Ohio State.  uh oh  x 2
If there […]

Curt delivers! Florida and USC do not.

And it begins.  The annual collapse of Mich St and Purdue.  5-0 and ranked was a joke for this Purdue team.  The “#1 offense” scored an empty netter with a minute left, otherwise total domination by this OSU defense.
I was so sure of the Buckeye domination I doubled down my bet, and with the 23-7 […]

When a regular wager isn’t enough…

Ok, this week, Ohio State gets its first “test” of the season. Supposedly, Purdue is giving them a run. I understand last week David had a whole sack of rocks for the Goliaths, but Purdue has a problem. To keep with the analogy, Purdue has rocks, but is much too slow to stop a quick […]

Loooooosers…. (including Curt vs Spread)

What? Its Wednesday already and no CFB update?  I know, I’m what you would call “busy.”  Regardless, here is my take on the weekend:
West Virginia loses to South Florida:  Awesome! Great game, WVA was over-rated as is the entire Big East.
Oklahoma and Texas lose!  Ha ha.  Good stuff.  They play this weekend and the loser is […]
