The sun did come up…

Obviously, I haven’t been in a big rush to write my thoughts on the Illinois game.  Couldn’t stop the run.  Period.  Boeckman threw 3 picks and the offense was not good in the second half.  But still, the season is built on the defense and they did not perform. 

But the sun rises again.  First, of coarse, the most important game of the day is here.  MeatChicken.  Its always tough regardless of anything that happened earlier this year.  I don’t think they’re defense is that good, but last week’s Illinois debacle makes me wonder whether our defense will hold up either.  Are we going to have a repeat of last year’s track meet?

But let’s say we win… Rose Bowl, right?  Well, maybe not.  We are #7, with LSU, Oregon, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, & West Virginia above us.  We need 6 of them to lose.  BUT….

Oregon lost!  You hate to see it happen with their star player tearing an ACL, but we’ll still take the loss. 

Missouri plays Kansas and then the winner plays Oklahoma.  Two of them must lose. 

So here’s the scoop Buckeye fans… If West Virginia & LSU lose coupled with a Buckeye win over the unemployed jerks up north… we are in!  That’s it!  I’d put the odds of that happening at a very promising.. 18%.

That all leads me to a very odd final comment…

GO UC!!!  (Plays West Virginia Saturday)

P.S.  Curt is (4-4 vs the spread).  Ohio State is favored by 4 points and it would be un-American not to take the Buckeyes in this spot.

ND P.S. Its been said if Notre Dame loses today it will be the worst season ever for the Irish!  Ever!  They play perrennial whipping boy Duke today.
