My baby wrote me a letter…

Nevada has 34 delegates at stake, South Carolina 24.  Yet, Romney’s win in Nevada isn’t a story, but McCain gets ”huge” win in South Carolina.  Could someone explain that to me?

Either way, here comes Florida.  So, conservatives, please write the following letter:

“Dear Fred Thompson, You’re a good man, clearly the most conservative candidate and perhaps the most qualified.  But we’re 6 states in and you can see that that you are going to lose.  With Florida a week away, for the good of the country we need a strong conservative to win, and that man is Mitt Romney.  Please be a pal, and quit.  Also, if you could endorse Romney in your exit speech, I’ll buy you a beer the next time you’re in town.  Thanks Buddy, your name.”

Because Nevada is a caucus and not a primary, Romney “only” received 17 delegates although he received a lionshare of the popular vote.

True, but South Carolina also gives out fractions, and McCain got 19 vs 17 for Romney. Either way, its loose change compared to the >1000 delegates one needs to be the candidate.
