McCain v Hilliary = Bad vs Evil.
The crash course with a divided delegate and a convention to decide the Republican nominee is basically over. With the victory in Florida, and the pull out / endorsement of Guiliani, McCain’s got it basically won. I would put Romney’s chances at less than 10%. (and Huckabee @ .1% - the odds of sudden death by all other candidates)
If you listen to talk radio, a McCain presidency = the end of the republican party. Because in essence, a shift so far left destroys the key principles of republicans being conservative. In fact, Rush has said if its McCain and Hilliary, he’d rather Hilliary win. He says that either one is going to screw things up, so the “screwer” might as well be a democrat, so a Republicans can have another swell.
To be fair, I don’t like McCain. He is very liberal. But that said, there are a few things that make him better than Clinton
1) He’s run on ending earmarks, cutting spending, and balancing the budget without raising taxes. Hilliary wants to give handouts to kids, nationalized healthcare, bigger government and higher taxes.
2) He’s supported the war from the beginning. The world believes we were duped by Bush and noone supports the war. The world would be sent a clear message to the contrary if McCain is elected. Hilliary wants to pull out and weaken our stance.
3) He has said he wants to build the fence and end illegal immigration. I know he’s for amnesty, but saying he’s changed is better than running on Amnesty. Hilliary wants to create an air-conditioned tunnel for illegals, so they don’t get so tired coming here illegally.
4) He’s pro-life. The liberal Supreme Court Justices that have been waiting 8 years to retire may be replaced by a conservative with McCain. If Hilliary is elected they will be replaced by activist liberal judges.
