Record Snowfall here is Columbus.

20.4″ was the official number, which is alot.  Take that Cleveland!  You can stop saying we don’t know snow…I had snow knee deep the length of my driveway.  I heard accidents due to the weather killed one person, but 4 men died shoveling their snow.

Everything was closed.  I believe it would have been easier for the news to scroll what was open because the list would have been much shorter.

Btw, I wanted to see the number of inches so I had to watch the local news…it was awful.  Do people really watch this stuff?  First of all it was so negative.  “Officials are warning people to limit their driving, but what will that do to our businesses?”  And then the reporting is so condescending… “If you’re going to drive, take it slow.  Use your 4 wheel drive vehicle. If its a long trip, don’t forget to pee before you leave.”

Then was a report in a level 3 snow emergency explaining how only emergency vehicles are allowed on the roads.  The report was condemning anyone driving illegally as it showed the cars behind the reporter.  Of course, one has to ask… “How did you get there channel 10?  Did you walk?”

Then my favorite was a woman reporting at a gas station about how people are getting fuel for their snowblowers.  She said “The gas station is busy, but noone is filling up their cars.”  And the very next clip was a close-up of gas nozzle going into a car!  Idiots.

I will once again refrain from local news for another 5 years.

20.4″… not bad. I believe we got between 14″ and 18″ in most places. But I don’t know how much the wind blew down in C-bus, but Saturday morning I looked out my window and there was a 5′ snow drift blocking the back door of the next building.

And yes, local news sucks… serves you right for watching it. Condescending and dumb. Don’t know how many commercials for local news I’ve seen like what you describe - “no ones filling up their cars” and the footage shows multiple people filling up their cars.
